Last week I bought a Canon 6D camera and a 35mm f/2 lens to replace my old 5D and 24-70mm f/2.8 which I sold to defray the new gear. First thing to say is that a good camera doesn’t do good photos, an old saying which is totally true. The first outing with the camera was kind of disaster, I didn’t get any decent photo.
«Cela dit» I have to add that this gear is a pleasure -light, comfortable, fast, silent and discreet. Sometimes I fight against the autofocus because I am used to focus manually by zones with my beloved Leica M8, where the only thing to do is bring the camera to the eye, quickly frame and shoot. But the quality of the 6D sensor is extraordinary, with a minimum noise at very high ISO, and the beautiful bokeh of the full frame sensors. As for the sharpness, sometimes it’s even too sharp. And now I am exploring the double exposure possibility, very easy to do.
These are a pair of first samples:
a disfrutarla!!! nosotros lo haremos seguro…

Great Luisa! I am planning to – maybe – buy a 6D 🙂
I understand you are content. What other lenses do you have?
Best regards!

Hi Birgitta, nice to hear from you! The 6D is a great camera, I strongly recommend it. I’ve reduced my gear to a minimum, just the 35mm f/2 and the 70-200mm f/4. The lesser you need, the better both for your back and pictures.

This will support your good eye very well. It’s like putting new glasses on, you have get used to it and after two weeks or so they are not noticeable any more. I bought a Nikon 1 just a couple of days ago. Same thing here. But the two weeks aren’t over yet 😉

Thanks for the comment! Which Nikon 1 is it? I’ve seen there are more than one.

It’s the V1. Quiet cheap and it has one of the fastest AF I know. I’m still learning to use it properly. The UI isn’t very good. But this doesn’t influence picture quality. The shutter can be set to silence. That’s another great feature.

The 6D will bring you loads of images in situations where your old 5D could not even dream of and the 35mm will blazing on the 6D. Cheers
