Aunque llevo diez días en Palermo, éstas son las primeras fotos que hice recién llegada. Después me intentaron robar un collar de oro con el clásico tirón que casi me arrancan el cuello, dos chicos en moto en pleno día y en pleno centro, y al cual me resistí con gran cabreo agarrando la mano del «tironero» y forcejeando con él. Finalmente no se llevaron el collar, pero me dejaron con gran susto. Consecuencia, no me he atrevido a pasear mi amada Leica por la calle. Así que «no Leica, no fotos». Pero no he podido resistir la tentación y esta mañana he ido al mercado a tirar unas fotos, para no ser la única turista que no hace fotos en Palermo. Mañana pondré alguna.

I arrived to Palermo ten days ago, but these are the first photos I shot. Then I suffered an attempted robbery right in the city centre and at full daylight. Two kids in a moto tried to pull a gold chain from my neck, I resisted and finally they left but they almost break my neck. The consequence was that I didn’t dare to stroll the streets of Palermo with my beloved Leica. So, «no Leica, no photos», I was the only tourist in Palermo not shooting! But I couldn’t resist for so long, and this morning I went to the market to make some shots that I will download tomorrow.

The name of that street is «Alley of the Pietà», Vicolo della Pietà.

I am afraid I am beeing too biased in looking at the ruined Palermo. Of course there are marvellous things like the puppet theatre.
