I say goodbye to Sevilla with a wink to Sierpes Street. It used to exhibit the best shops of the famous Sevillian craftsmanship, but now it’s a central point of the international fashion.
Y sí, la semana pasada estuve en Sevilla, llovía y la ciudad era una pura maravilla. Las fotos están tomadas en el Palacio de Lebrija, que es una de las dos cosas más maravillosas de Sevilla, la otra son los Reales Alcázares.
Last week I was in Sevilla, it rained and it was wonderful. These pictures were taken in Palace of Lebrija which is one of the two most wonderful places in Sevilla, the other one being the moorish palace of Reales Alcázares.
Qué mejor en una mañana de nieve que ir a visitar la maravillosa exposición de Virgilio Vieitez. Ver estas 250 fotografías es hacer todo un recorrido sociológico y artístico de la España profunda de los años 60. Fotografías que impresionan por su calidad y profundidad, hechas por un modesto fotógrafo de pueblo que nada tiene que envidiar a Walker Evans. No hay que perdérsela.
On a snowy morning, nothing better that going to visit the outstanding exhibition of Virgilio Vieitez. To look at these 250 pictures is like doing a trip back to the rural Spain of the 60’s. Pictures with an astonishing quality and intensity, shot by a modest photographer in a tiny village of Galicia who made his living of it. Not to be missed.
